Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness Movie Storyline

In "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," the story begins with America Chavez and an alternate version of Stephen Strange being pursued by a demon in the space between universes while searching for the Book of Vishanti.

Strange is killed during the pursuit, and Chavez accidentally creates a portal that transports them to Earth-616.

There, they encounter the Earth-616 version of Strange, who, along with Wong, helps Chavez. She explains that beings are after her due to her ability to travel through the multiverse.

Strange discovers that Wanda Maximoff, now the Scarlet Witch after acquiring the Darkhold, is behind the attacks.

Wanda aims to take Chavez's powers and traverse the multiverse to reunite with her created children, Billy and Tommy. When Strange refuses to surrender Chavez, Wanda attacks Kamar-Taj, killing many sorcerers. Chavez accidentally transports herself and Strange to Earth-838, where Wanda continues her pursuit.

In Earth-838, they encounter Karl Mordo, the Sorcerer Supreme of that universe, and the Illuminati, a group of powerful beings. They explain that their Strange caused a universe-destroying event and was subsequently executed.

Wanda takes over Chavez's mind and kills most of the Illuminati members before being subdued by Strange.

With the help of an alternate version of his ex-fiancé Christine Palmer, Strange and Chavez escape and embark on a mission to find the Book of Vishanti, the antithesis of the Darkhold.

Wanda, now obsessed, destroys the Book of Vishanti and manipulates Chavez. With Wong's assistance, Strange saves Chavez and encourages her to use her powers.

Chavez transports Wanda to Earth-838, where her children reject her. Realizing her mistake, Wanda sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold copies and bring down Mount Wundagore, a source of immense power. Chavez returns Strange and Palmer to their respective universes.

In the aftermath, Kamar-Taj is being rebuilt, and surviving sorcerers, including Chavez, continue their training. Strange, affected by his use of the Darkhold, develops a third eye.

In a mid-credits scene, a sorceress warns Strange about triggering an incursion, leading him into the Dark Dimension to fix the impending crisis.
